“You’re in pretty good shape for the shape you are in.”

-Dr. Suess

Health is defined as the state of being free from illness or injury. We have all had times of illness and injury, so we have technically all been unhealthy at some time. We would all agree that we would prefer to be healthy than unhealthy. How do we accomplish this? This goal is an ongoing goal that requires continuous choices, decisions, and sacrifices. Physical and mental health are closely linked and one (almost always) has a large effect on the other. We cannot neglect one and expect the other to flourish. There is no one way to achieve health, and what works for one, may not work for another. Even though I have had extensive education and training in health, I have had times of poor health and my family has suffered significant issues in this area.

Wellness is defined as the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal. You can obviously see how these are linked. Wellness is the pursuit of being healthy. I am excited to share our path to health, and wellness and how we have succeeded and failed in these areas.
